Tsunade

Tsunade is the fifth hokage of Konohagakure, taking over after Hiruzen Sarutobi died. She, Jiraiya and Orochimaru made up the sannin and were the pupils of Hiruzen Sarutobi. She is the only living member of the Legendary Sannin. Her main expertise is medical ninjutsu.

Personality
Tsunade was greatly changed by the deaths Nawaki, her brother and Dan, her lover. Tsunade also suffers from hemophobia, after failing to save Dan as he bled to death, seeing blood causes her to freeze on the spot. After the necklace being returned to her many times, she and many others believed it was cursed and that whoever had the necklace would die soon after being given it.
In her debut, Tsunade comes off as tough, cold and unfeeling, her tough demeanor does not change, but after being inspired by Naruto, she becomes more caring and thoughtful. Though, she doesn't let any weakness show and rarely praises people and critisizes their faults. Tsunade rarely shows sympathy, but on a few occasions has portrayed it, such as consoling Rock Lee when he had a high chance of not being able to be a ninja.
Tsunade has gambling problems and the sign on the back of her jacket says "gamble." She is known as the "Legendary Loser" for her horrible luck, she is deep in debt from the gambling, and used to use the transformation jutsu, so that people looking for her, would only see a child or elderly woman, instead of the Tsunade at her "current" (she is actually in her fifties, but appears to be in her twenties, due to the jutsu). On some rare instances, Tsunade is known to win in gambling, however, she regards this as a bad omen because it happens so rarely.
